Research shows that numerous entrepreneurs share the benefits of staying fit while growing their business. It helps them build businesses and keeps them sane with their work-life balance. Just like in entrepreneurship, mindset separates those who give up and ones who succeed.
That’s why I wanted to really dig deep and talk about the “fitness mindset” which I believe is super important for staying fit, eating healthy, and building healthy habits for the long-term.
The fitness mindset helps deliver results – that’s a fact. It’s going to heighten your energy levels, make you feel more confident, and ultimately, have the endurance to sustain this lifestyle change for the long-term.
Continue reading below to better build this!
1 | Talking yourself into becoming fit
One of the biggest mindset shifts is talking yourself into something. This has happened when we were young and and daring ourselves into a certain decision. I believe that’s the same way when it comes to staying healthy and becoming fit.
Encourage yourself to staying the course and creating a lifestyle change. Say this every day and you’ll slowly change your habit of thinking exercise is “torture” to “a good experience.”
2 | Take baby steps
What does it look like to have the body you want? Or the feeling of confidence you’ll get? Having a long-term vision is super important to reach your goals. But when you’re trying to build habits, it’s important to build on them rather than creating a new one right away.
By stacking up on habits, you’re able to exercise every day, stay fit, and keep consistent in your routine. Don’t worry too much of the long game when, ultimately, you need to focus on the process first.
3 | Make changes that are sustainable
It’s important to see the big picture when it comes to fitness. Think about it: everything begins with a vision. Where do you see yourself a year from now? Will you be sticking to a solid gym routine or a cardio class? How do you feel about this?
Envisioning what you want to happen, it’s incredibly helpful to see what’s realistic for you — the lifestyle, routine, expectations. This helps create a solid path that’s going to lead to a stricter routine.
4 | Focus on a system
You know what they say in business… passion isn’t always the key. If you follow what you’re passionate about, you’re looking at environmental factors like mood and weather. However, when you look at systems, this can continue to run no matter what you’re feeling.
The same goes for staying fit and healthy. Your body can be part of a system and the mindset practices you have throughout the day fuels it. A key to building your system is to forget about your mood or other external circumstances. Work out a way that allows you to exercise no matter what.
